Owner & Lead Planner

I’ve been planning celebrations for as long as I can remember. Being the oldest, and only girl, of three, I was always helping my mom to organize our annual cookie swaps, Halloween parties, and baking competitions.

When I moved from Connecticut to Virginia to row at UVA, I met a local wedding planner and started spending my weekends as a bridal attendant at some of the area’s most beloved venues. That’s where I learned the rhythm of a wedding day from the ground up: when to step in, when to step back, and how a hundred small moments come together into one beautiful day.

After earning my master’s in education, I taught elementary school during the week and kept working weddings on the weekends. Teaching sharpened skills I still use every day: clear communication, endless patience, and keeping a room full of people happily on schedule.

Eventually, events won my heart full-time. I spent the past several years as a Senior Event Designer for one of the DMV’s top catering companies; leading celebrations at some of the region’s most celebrated venues, including Smithsonian’s, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, DAR Constitution Hall, the National Arboretum, Stone Tower Winery, River Farm and so many others.

Designing and managing events at a high luxury scale taught me how to:

Carry a single aesthetic through every detail of a celebration
Make logistics and hospitality work hand in hand
Design spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful
Anticipate the hundred small things that make or break an effortless day

It also let me work alongside nearly every kind of planner and vendor in this industry. I’ve seen what genuine care for a client looks like, and I’ve seen what happens when it’s missing. I created Riegle Events to offer a planning experience built on hospitality and intentional design.

Who Riegle Events Is Best For

Riegle Events is especially well suited to tented, farm, and private estate weddings, where couples bring in every caterer, rental, tent, restroom trailer, etc. Phoebe’s years as a senior event designer for a high-end catering company mean the load-in schedule, power and kitchen plan, and rain backup are built before anything is booked.
Phoebe has designed and managed events at Smithsonian Museums, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, DAR Constitution Hall, and the U.S. National Arboretum. She knows how these venues operate: strict load-in windows, approved vendor lists, security requirements, and the precise timing needed to turn a ceremony space into a reception.
